Insurance Coverage

Insurance coverage is dependent on plan details. However, most members pay $0 out-of-pocket for 3 or more video calls per year. To determine your eligibility, Nutrisense offers a free eligibility check with scheduling.

If your insurance includes a copay, Nutrisense will provide notice of this ahead of your scheduled call.

Cancellation

To cancel a video call, members can find the reschedule or cancel link in the appointment details email. Cancellations made 24 hours before the appointment are free, but any cancellations within 24 hours will incur a $75 fee. Regardless of coverage, insurance will not cover or reimburse this cancellation fee.

You can sign up for 1:1 Dietitian Video Coaching as a standalone solution to work on your health goals.

Crucially, your membership includes full access to the Nutrisense App. Even without a biosensor, you will use the app to log meals, track habits, and monitor progress. Your Registered Dietitian reviews this data to provide expert insights and strategy.

Is Dietitian Coaching covered by insurance?

We are in-network with major payers including Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, Anthem, and Blue Cross Blue Shield. During sign up, we can quickly verify your eligibility to see if your plan covers these sessions.

Will my dietitian force me to stop eating carbs or go Keto?

No. Nutrisense is diet-agnostic. We do not push a "one-size-fits-all" diet like Keto or Veganism.

Instead, we use your data to find the diet that works for your biology. If you love pasta, your Registered Dietitian will help you find the right portion or pairing (e.g., adding protein/fiber) to minimize impacts, rather than telling you to cut it out completely. Our goal is metabolic flexibility, not restriction.

How often do I communicate with my nutritionist?

You have two ways to connect: Video Coaching and In-App Chat.

Your insurance typically covers a set number of 1:1 Dietitian Video Coaching sessions (often 3+) for deep dives into your health history. Between calls, you have regular check-ins via in-app chat. Your dietitian can review your logs, answer daily questions, and help you adjust your actions in real-time, ensuring you have the accountability needed to stay on track.

How much does coaching cost if I don't have insurance?

You can book individual video coaching sessions for $50 per session. This ensures you can still get expert guidance even without insurance coverage.
